비상 - Soaring

《비상 Soaring》은 각자의 삶을 지나 새로운 창작의 길 위에 선 두 작가, '또우' 우승하와 '에너지 작가' 강정수의 작품을 함께 선보이는 전시이다.

2026년, 송도 끝자락에 새로운 아뜰리에를 마련한 우승하는 솔나무 사이로 빛나는 바다를 마주하며 다시 붓을 든다. 새로운 공간에서 창작의 날개를 펼치기 시작한 그에게 이번 전시는 한동안 막혀 있던 의식의 공간을 열고 다시 높이 날아오르는 또 하나의 출발점이다.

강정수의 그림은 오랜 시간 삶과 함께해 온 송도의 풍경에서 시작된다. 수십 년간 송도 암남로를 걸어 일터로 향하며 마주했던 일출은 어느새 그의 내면 깊숙이 자리 잡았다. 60대 중반, 무심히 처음 든 붓에서 탄생한 네 점의 작품은 '에너지 시리즈'로 이어졌고, 그는 이제 그 힘이 이끄는 대로 화폭 속으로 한 걸음씩 들어가고자 한다.

두 작가는 그림을 시작한 시점도, 걸어온 길도, 표현하는 방식도 다르다. 그러나 지금 이들은 저마다의 자리에서 새로운 가능성을 향해 나아가고 있다.

《비상 Soaring》은 두 작가가 자신만의 방식으로 새로운 창작의 지평을 향해 날개를 펼치는 순간을 담는다.

Soaring brings together the works of two artists, Woo Seung-ha, known as “thou” and Kang Jeong-soo, the "Energy Artist," each standing at a new point in their creative journey after following a distinct path through life.

In 2025, Woo Seung-ha established a new atelier at the edge of Songdo, where he once again takes up his brush while looking out toward the sea shimmering through the pine trees. As he begins to spread his creative wings in this new space, the exhibition marks another point of departure - a moment of reopening a creative realm that had long felt closed and taking flight once more.

Kang Jung-soo's paintings begin with the landscape of Songdo, a place that has accompanied him throughout much of his life. For decades, he walked along Amnam-ro on his way to work, with the sunrise as his constant companion. Over time, those countless mornings became deeply embedded within him. In his mid-sixties, he picked up a brush almost by chance, and the four paintings that emerged became the beginning of his Energy Series. Now, guided by that inner force, he seeks to move step by step further into the world of painting.

The two artists began painting at different stages of life, have traveled different paths, and speak through different visual languages. Yet today, each is moving toward new possibilities in his own way.

Soaring captures the moment when these two artists spread their wings, each in his own way, toward new horizons of artistic creation.
